Review Ratings

I rate each review and I realized that I should probably explain my reasoning. Here is a breakdown of the scores.

5 of 5 – Prefect: If there is anything wrong, I don’t care, it’s just that good.

4 1/2 of 5 – Awesome: Almost prefect but can’t ignore the fault, or, a 4  pointer which has just that something extra.

4 of 5 – Great: Better than average, a well put together showing that goes above and beyond.

3 1/2 of 5 – Good: A solid 3 pointer which has something extra, or a 4 pointer that doesn’t quite make it past its faults.

3 of 5 – Solid: Average, conveys its story and is entertaining but doesn’t pop or have flare.

2 1/2 of 5 – Okay: A 3 pointer which is lacking something vital or a 2 pointer with a redeeming quality.

2 of 5 – Meh: While I can see where they are going, they don’t quite get there.

1 1/2 of 5 – Blah: There might be one or two redeeming factors in this train wreck.

1 of 5 – Train Wreck: I am dumber for having watched this.

I do grade on a curve with tv episodes. A new show I may be more cautious about because there is an unknown quantity about them while a show in its 4th or 5th year has a lot of backstreet pilling up which helps sell the story. Conversely, I can be harsher on an older show because they should know better by now while a new show is still getting its sea legs.

I’ll post this later in maybe its own section or I could turn About into an FAQ. Thinking on that one.
